The mother of a 15-year-old boy shot dead in a Brooklyn park said Thursday she’d give her life to spare his.

“You was better off taking my life for his,” Dominque Simmons posted on Facebook Thursday as she reeled from the slaying of her son Unique Smith. “Why save me and not him?”

“I never thought I will lose you so early,” she wrote in another post. “This the worst pain ever. I love you. We fight, so what? I want you here. This world wasn’t ready for you to leave. You my first child, you my heart‚ you are me. Why you? Why my son? Why him?”

Unique Smith, shortly after his first day in school, was confronted Wednesday afternoon by two masked teens as he sat on a park bench with two girls inside Mclaughlin Park in Downtown Brooklyn. The slain teen lived in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

They argued, Chief of Detectives James Essig said at a press conference shortly after the shooting, then got into a fight, with one pulling out a gun and shooting Unique in the abdomen as about 30 people in the park, children included, ran for cover.

“Damn, Unique, I know you looking for me to save you,” his mother wrote on Facebook. “I always run to save you. I just couldn’t do it this time.”

“I thought we had time, I thought we could fix us‚” she added. “I love you Unique with all my heart and my soul. I can’t say goodbye. I can’t eat, I can’t sleep, I just want you.”
